Robertson and Palmer advise on Parthenon Marbles

Barristers Geoffrey Robertson and Norman Palmer will be advising the Greek government this week in regards to the Parthenon (or Elgin) Marbles. Their visit to Greece has, for one reason or another, already received an inordinate amount of media attention, both in Greece and abroad.
Robertson, Palmer and their legal team will be discussing with Greek representatives how the country can best pursue its claim for the return of the Marbles, currently held at the British Museum. This represents the 90 marbles originally from the Parthenon in Athens that had been taken in and around 1801 by a team working under Lord Elgin, the erstwhile British Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire.
