Description
Membership Information
The Institute of Art and Law (IAL) is open to membership on an individual or institutional basis, and welcomes applications from lawyers, academics, museums and museum personnel, auction houses, fine art insurers, underwriters, students and others with a professional interest in art law transactions. Current membership includes individuals and organisations from a wide range of professional backgrounds and countries.
Benefits
The IAL has been in existence since 1995 and has, since then, offered a unique link between lawyers, museum personnel, art market professionals, academics and students with an interest in art and cultural property law. Joining the IAL as a member will allow you or your institution to be a part of this larger network and to identify yourself with the recognised badge of IAL membership.
The benefits of membership include reductions on the cost of IAL seminars, courses and publications, together with a complimentary subscription to our quarterly law journal Art Antiquity & Law in either physical or digital format (also available as a subscription-only option through the link). The detailed reductions based on the type of membership are available below. All members of the Institute of Art and Law will be placed in our mailing list and will therefore automatically receive details of all new publications and forthcoming events.
Institutional members will have their logo and name given pride of place on our Current Members page (with hyperlink). We will also endeavour to offer partnership possibilities with institutional members and to promote related events and news items deriving from those members.
Administration Details
All members of the Institute of Art and Law will receive a membership number to be quoted when ordering publications or booking seminar/course places, in order to receive the appropriate discount.
Registration Fee
The membership fee depends on your category of membership. Membership runs for twelve months and can be taken out at any point during the course of the year.
