Description
Loans of works of art and cultural artefacts represent the lifeblood of cultural institutions across the globe. They increase access to art and culture, facilitate research, expand knowledge, and foster collaboration and understanding. Yet from a legal perspective, they involve risks and uncertainties at every turn.
Note that this version dates from 1997. IAL is currently working on a second edition of Professor Norman Palmer’s Art Loans, which will be released shortly.
The forthcoming edition will offer practical and tailored guidance, examining the many relevant areas of law from contracts to copyright, and insurance to indemnities. Drawing on the experiences of contemporary practitioners (both institutions and private collectors) it will offer comprehensive, multi-jurisdictional guidance on the legal challenges of the 21st century.
