Posted on: March 29, 2016 by Ruth Redmond-Cooper
On Tuesday 7 June 2016 from 2.00-6.00 pm there will be an Institute of Art & Law seminar in association with Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP held at the firm’s London offices in Milton Street EC2Y 9BH. The seminar will explore the legal issues surrounding international art loans, covering questions relating to art loan agreements, jurisdiction and conflict of laws, government indemnity for objects on loan, the European policy of art mobility and immunity from seizure.
This is a complement to the joint IAL-MTG seminar from 2015 on ‘International Art Transactions’ and will serve to further extend the understanding of international matters relating to the art market.
Speakers include Richard Turnor (Partner, Maurice Turnor Gardner), Hélène Deslauriers (Lawyer, Brussels), Ed Powles (Partner, Maurice Turnor Gardner), Nout-van Woudenberg (Kingdom Affairs Advisor, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Jane Knowles (Head of Exhibitions, National Gallery), with further speakers to be confirmed.
The event costs £144 (£120 plus VAT) – with a 50% reduction for IAL or UKRG members. It is accredited for CPD and Law Society points.
