The IAL is happy to be partnering with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to offer a two-day Art and Law training programme as part of the museum’s Learning Academy. The training will run on 7 and 8 September 2017 and is aimed at museum and gallery professionals, covering a number of legal issues relating to acquisition, collections management and curatorship.

The course will introduce matters relating to legal title, contract law, due diligence and international loans, as well as intellectual property. It will combine lectures with in-depth case studies and will be taught by Alexander Herman and Emily Gould from the IAL, Anthony Misquitta (in-house legal counsel to the V&A) and several others from the V&A’s curatorial department. The cost of attending is £550 (concession for jobseekers or over 60 is £495).

The training will offer a unique experience at the intersection of law, museum management and curatorship. Places can be booked by ringing the V&A’s Learning Academy on +44 (0)20 7942 2000.
