Posted on: January 17, 2017 by Alexander Herman
Yesterday marked the second in a series of workshops on art crime entitled Art, Crime and Criminals: Painting Fresh Pictures of Art Theft, Fraud and Looting. This instalment was hosted at the Royal United Service Institute in Whitehall, London and focused on the issue of fakes, frauds and forgeries in the art world. The event, organised by Saskia Hufnagel, Duncan Chappell and Marissa Marjos, brought together a number of experts from around the world each providing their own perspective on the topic of the day, from lawyers and criminologists to police officers and art conservators. There was even one convicted art forger on the bill!
